Important Update Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Dear Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick Families,

As you know, the R.I. Department of Health has been closely monitoring the situation with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and making timely safety recommendations.

We want to assure all of our families that BGCW is following their guidance and taking precautions to protect all members, staff and visitors. In addition to encouraging basic preventative measures (proper hand washing, reminding members to cover their mouths, hand sanitizer stations, not sharing drinks, food, etc.), staff has been instructed to regularly wipe down surfaces on our vans and at all branches throughout the day. We are also working closely with our cleaning company to ensure they are suitably sanitizing our spaces.

Additionally, no large groups will be allowed at the Club until further notice.

As a parent, what can you do?
Continue to remind your child about keeping their hands away from their face (and others).
Should your child be sick (cough, runny nose, fever of more than 100 degrees, etc.) please keep your child home.
TALK to your children – there is a lot of misinformation out there and many kids are scared, while others don’t take it seriously enough. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) is a great resource on how to talk to your child. You can access it by visiting: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus.
For other precautions, this CDC site is also a great resource, and we recommend you check it out.

You can keep up to date with our Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick by following us on Facebook, and routinely checking our Website.
These are the vehicles we will use to communicate should situations force closure or modified schedules.

IMPORTANT: Please also make sure your emergency contact information is up to date.

Upcoming YOUTHOOP Playoff Games

As you may know, the Department of Health is advising against large groups congregating in one area. As our Playoffs attract many spectators to support the players in their big games...

In the interest of the health and safety for all, all Playoff Games and Youthoop Practices are postponed until further notice. After two weeks we will re-evaluate and make further plans.

Should you have any questions or other concerns, please contact the Club at 467-4385 or email me directly at Lara@wbgclubs.org.

Sincerely,
Lara D'Antuono
